The 49-room emergency department at Tanner Medical Center–Carrollton, which serves west Georgia and east Alabama, significantly improved triage throughput by expanding staffing to support patient flow, lab collection and treatment initiation. The efforts resulted in a consistently low left-without-being-seen rate of less than 1.6 percent. To further enhance the patient

To support professional development, the ED offers an orientation program for new nurses which combines classroom education with one-on-one preceptorship. Understanding that empowered teams deliver exceptional care, leadership remains committed to a supportive culture where staff can thrive.
Additionally, the team led initiatives that improved medication reconciliation, sepsis response, fall prevention, and it launched a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Program, whole also boosting patient safety and staff engagement across the department.
