St. Elizabeth Healthcare Grant County Emergency Department

Williamstown, Kentucky

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is one of the oldest, largest, and most respected healthcare systems in northern Kentucky. Founded with one small hospital in 1861, St. Elizabeth Healthcare operates six emergency departments throughout northern Kentucky and southern Indiana. Grant Emergency Department is a 11-bed unit within a rural Critical Access Hospital that serves approximately 16,000 patients annually. We are proud to say that our hospital is a designated Joint Commission Acute Stroke Ready and Magnet facility.

Our mission is to provide comprehensive and compassionate care that improves the health of the people we serve. We accomplish this through the implementation of evidence-based practice, use of innovative technology, and associate engagement that drives dynamic change.

Successful projects like creating bundles to reduce blood culture contaminations and falls, pre-hospital notification for STEMI patients, active shooter training, and implementing a behavioral emergency response team have positively impacted the quality and safety of our patients. These initiatives have also enhanced knowledge and experiences of our dedicated frontline team members. Our team represents the Grant Emergency Department through various engagement activities such as participation in house-wide committees and continuous performance improvement monitoring which is key to our success.

St. Elizabeth Grant County is incredibly honored to have been selected for the second consecutive time as a Lantern Award recipient.
