The Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla emergency department is a designated comprehensive stroke center, able to manage complex stroke cases quickly with advanced imaging, timely interventions and 24/7 neurology support. The 51-bed department is also an eCPR receiving center, providing extracorporeal CPR for select cardiac arrest patients as part of a regional effort to improve survival. These programs reflect the work the team has done to provide high-level, evidence-based care in critical situations.
