improved patient outcomes. Nurse-driven protocols to initiate care upon arrival to the ED, have significantly improved door-to-EKG, door-to-cat scan, and sepsis compliance. The door-to-thrombolytic administration also improved from 69 minutes to 42 minutes. The team continues to identify opportunities for improvement that best serve the community. The team is honored to be a first-time recipient of the Lantern Award.

Riverview Medical Center, part of the Hackensack Meridian Health Network, is a 468-bed community hospital in Red Bank, New Jersey. It is a six-time Magnet-designated facility recognized by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. It holds multiple Joint Commission disease-specific certifications, including stroke, sepsis, joint and spine, chest pain, heart failure, and cardiac catheterization. The 37-bed emergency department provides care to approximately 38,000 patients annually.
