the exceptional nursing care provided by Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center’s adult emergency department team. The 54-bed department has more than 55,000 visits per year and is a designated Comprehensive Stroke Center.

Several recent outcomes include significant reduction in blood culture contamination, the implementation of a SANE-trained nurse team and a dedicated specialized trauma nurse team assisting with trauma care for more than 4,400 trauma patients annually, providing expert care to specific populations.

Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center is a 647-licensed-bed academic medical center and Level 1 trauma center providing quaternary care in the south-central Pennsylvania region. It was recognized as one of U.S. News & World Report’s 2023-2024 Best Hospitals, being ranked No. 1 in the Harrisburg metro region and No. 4 in Pennsylvania.
