Orlando Health South Seminole Hospital Emergency Department

Longwood, Florida

South Seminole Hospital has been serving the community since 1984 and proudly serves as one of Orlando Health’s locations in Seminole County. The 3,888-bed system includes 29 hospitals and emergency departments, 24 of which are currently operational with 5 coming soon. Over the years the reputation of this emergency department and hospital has only continued to grow. Since opening, the emergency department has not only been able to physically expand, but it has grown in the different ways we are able to serve the community. We are a thirty-two-bed emergency department that has been able to provide our community with consistent, quality patient care that is well-known throughout the community, as well as reflected in our patient experience scores.

Quality patient care has always been our top priority and this determination has continued to drive our team to develop initiatives such as our EMS offload, stroke process, STEMI process, and reducing blood culture contaminations. As a team, we decided to apply for the Lantern Award in hopes that we could showcase our processes and collaboration that have proven to positively impact our patients. Orlando Health South Seminole Emergency Department continues to proudly serve Seminole County and we are excited for the ongoing work and commitment our clinical team members continue to provide for our community.
