Highlights of the ED’s staff-led initiatives include improvements in streamlining patient flow and throughput, workplace violence and prevention, and promoting a healthy work environment. The focus on staff well-being led to the implementation of a mental health day, which staff can use following an especially challenging shift without concern or stigma; wellness rounds and mini yoga sessions to promote wellness. North Shore University Hospital is honored to have been selected as a 2024 Lantern Award two-time recipient.
