The New York Presbyterian Westchester ED has made an ongoing effort over the past several years to become pediatric-ready. By enhancing care environments and investing in comprehensive staff education – including ENPC, a neonatal resuscitation program, simulation training and dedicated pediatric education sessions – the team committed itself to delivering safe, high-quality and compassionate care to pediatric patients and their families.
The team has also improved patient throughput by leveraging data from the 42-bed ED to identify opportunities and implement targeted strategies that support the timely delivery of care. Throughout this work, the department maintained strong quality outcomes and ensured efficiency without compromising patient safety or the standard of care.
