Over a six-month period, the Mount Sinai Morningside ED dedicated immense effort to refining processes and enhancing patient outcomes for acute stroke patients. Through in situ simulations and various tests of change, the nurses meticulously improved individual skills, ensuring each team member was adept and confident in their role. These simulations allowed staff members to identify and address potential gaps in care delivery, fostering an environment of continuous learning and adaptability.

Additionally, the ED placed a strong emphasis on improving communication amongst the care team. Fostering a culture of open dialogue and collaboration ensured that vital information was shared promptly and accurately, reducing the risk of errors and enhancing the efficiency of interventions. This holistic approach not only strengthened the team’s cohesiveness but also significantly boosted its capability to deliver swift and effective stroke care. The dedication and commitment of the team have been instrumental in these advancements. Staff members are truly proud of the excellent care they provide to acute stroke patients.
