The second initiative focused on the delivery of behavioral health care through an innovative, patient-centered pathway that prioritizes safety, dignity and de-escalation. Patients receive immediate standardized risk assessment and medical screening before transitioning to a specialized area designed to reduce sensory stimulation and support emotional regulation. Specially trained staff provides continuous observation, crisis intervention and early identification of escalating behaviors, which enables proactive, least-restrictive interventions. Supported by strong interdisciplinary collaboration, this evidence-based model has enhanced patient engagement, reduced workplace violence and decreased the utilization of restraints demonstrating advanced excellence in emergency behavioral health care.
