The Kaiser Permanente Roseville Medical Center Emergency Department advanced emergency care through two strategic initiatives designed to improve quality, patient outcomes and the care experience. The first transformed pediatric emergency care by creating a dedicated pediatric treatment space supported by standardized evidence-based pathways, resulting in improved asthma and sepsis outcomes.
The second strengthened trauma care through redesigned workflows and enhanced interdisciplinary collaboration, improving communication, efficiency and coordination across the care team. These initiatives demonstrate a commitment to innovation, continuous improvement and exceptional patient-centered emergency care in the department, which saw approximately 135,000 visits in 2025.
