Houston Methodist West Hospital Emergency Department
Since opening 15 years ago, Houston Methodist West has embraced a mission of being “intensely collaborative” which guided the emergency department’s efforts to providing improved care – and earning an ENA Lantern Award.
The team maintained low staff turnover, fostered a positive and supportive work
environment and promoted exemplary engagement within the department and
across the hospital’s shared governance.
Efforts to redesign patient throughput resulted in safer, more effective and efficient care delivery. The 43-bed ED also improved workplace safety and earned high national scores in staff and patient satisfaction – which were reflected in employee opinion and Press Ganey surveys – as it upholds its dedication to exceptional care with compassion and integrity to ensure every patient receives the highest standard of emergency medicine.
