Good Samaritan Western Ridge is a free-standing Emergency Department (ED) that is a part of the TriHealth health care system located on the west side of Cincinnati, Ohio. Good Samaritan Western Ridge ED is a Magnet unit and is designated by the Joint Commission as an Acute Stroke Ready department. The ED is under the umbrella of Good Samaritan Hospital, TriHealth in Cincinnati and has been recognized as among the World’s Best Hospitals by Newsweek and has received an “A” for patient safety in the most recent Leapfrog Hospital safety grade.
This free-standing ED saw over 20,000 patients in fiscal year 2023. The ED leaders have worked diligently to enhance nursing satisfaction by focusing on being present, personal wellness and resilience as they came out of the pandemic. The focus on nursing has resulted in some extraordinary clinical quality initiatives to ensure exemplary patient care. The shared leadership team ensures that emphasis on team work is essential in the small ED and guarantees that evidence based practice guides the nursing care provided on a daily basis. Good Samaritan Western Ridge ED is honored to have been selected as Lantern Award recipients in 2020 and 2023.
