Good Samaritan Hospital Emergency Department – TriHealth

Good Samaritan Hospital-TriHealth is a designated Comprehensive Stroke
Center that recently achieved the “Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite Plus” for
the first time. Its 41-bed emergency department cares for more than 54,000
patients annually.

The team introduced two initiatives to advance the relationship between caregivers and the extreme population of mental health patients. Through an
evidence-based practice project, the department was the first to implement
the use of a restraint chair in the ED to improve the dignity and safety of these patients. Another evidence-based practice project included an initiative to adjust the care delivery model of large vessel occlusion stroke patients by lowering the head of their beds to enhance cerebral perfusion.
