Centrastate Medical Center’s Emergency Department provides high-quality care to over 46,000 patients a year. As a high reliability organization, significant exemplars include Chest Pain Accreditation with the initiation of Primary Percutaneous Coronary Angioplasty (PCI), Stroke Accreditation with honors, twice-daily unit safety huddles, a robust RN professional development program and a dedicated RN Workforce Coordinator. ED administrative leaders focus on a healthy work environment through efforts to decrease workplace violence, a commitment to throughput by focusing on process, and the establishment of an RN Patient Flow Coordinator. These efforts to bring quality care to our community have resulted in significant increases in our patient experience scores.
