below the national average. The accelerated care environment model expedites lower acuity patients through streamlined pathways, keeping the department decompressed while maintaining high-quality patient care.

The team also addressed fall risks among emergency department patients – who may have mobility impairments, medication related dizziness confusion or acute illness – with a multifaceted prevention strategy. “Call Don’t Fall” signage was placed throughout the department. Fall kits containing gait belts, non-skid socks, wristbands and visual markers were created. These tools improved identification and protection of at-risk patients, evidenced by 2025 ending with a fall rate of just 0.5 percent.
