AdventHealth Dade City Emergency Department

managed increasing patient volumes while reducing lobby wait times and the number of patients leaving without being seen. Front-line nurses, providers, registration and ancillary departments work together to rapidly assess, treat and discharge appropriate patients to ensure emergency resources remain available for higher-acuity patients. These throughput initiatives have improved patient experience, strengthened operational efficiency and created a culture where every team member is engaged in delivering exceptional emergency care.

The department also fosters a culture of excellence through shared governance, evidence-based practice and continuous professional development. Staff in the 17-bed department actively participate in the unit-based council. Specialty champions, peer education, simulation and certification preparation further empower front-line nurses to lead practice changes. Regular interdisciplinary collaboration, mentorship and quality improvement initiatives strengthen teamwork, patient safety and staff engagement while creating an environment where every team member is encouraged to innovate, grow professionally and positively impact patient outcomes.
