Nancy McGrath, MN, RN, CPNP-AC/PC, California
Pediatric Readiness Improvement Award

Recognizes a nurse who has demonstrated outstanding efforts to improve readiness in caring for children in the emergency care setting.
As the pediatric emergency care coordinator and pediatric nurse practitioner in the Department of Emergency Medicine at LA County/Harbor-UCLA Medical Center for the past 30 years, Nancy has always been a thought leader for pediatric emergency care and pediatric readiness. As the PECC, she has planned regional emergency department for pediatrics conferences for more than 20 years, which have trained and educated thousands of nurses, prehospital providers and physicians on pediatric emergency care and disaster preparedness. As a nurse consultant for the National EMSC Resource Alliance at Harbor-UCLA, she was instrumental in the development of the first regionalized care system for pediatrics in emergency settings across the country. She is a longstanding member of the California EMSA Technical Advisory Pediatric Readiness Committee and has contributed to the implementation of statewide training of prehospital providers on pediatric emergency care and guidelines for LEMSAs on pediatric readiness.
