Recognizes a nurse who exemplifies outstanding nursing practice as demonstrated through clinical skills, care and compassion. This nurse is recognized by peers as an expert in emergency nursing and consistently exhibits traits associated with professional behavior and commitment to professional values. This individual may demonstrate outstanding commitment to a specialty population such as pediatrics or older adults within the specialty of emergency nursing.

Leslie has more than 30 combined years of health care experience. She most recently functioned as a certified clinical nurse leader and educator for an urban hospital system. Leslie is passionate about process improvement and collaborated with her ED and multiple stakeholders to greatly decrease reprocessing time for personal protective equipment during the pandemic. She has been recognized by leaders and peers alike for her work in developing evidence-based clinical orientation programs for multiple facilities to greatly decrease hospital-acquired conditions. One former nursing executive said Leslie was amazing at anything she does – a true emergency nurse who is comfortable in the chaos and always ready to learn and share knowledge and skills with others.
