Media Award

The Media Award recognizes a media presentation – television, radio, internet or print – that portrays emergency nursing in a positive, accurate and professional manner. This presentation may have been created to educate the consumer about or advocate for emergency nursing or emergency care issues.

Jacqueline Bly, a nursing professional development specialist at MidState Medical Center Hartford HealthCare, led an innovative initiative to enhance engagement within the Connecticut Emergency Nurses Association by transforming its social media strategy. She established and integrated a new Instagram platform with Facebook, leveraging analytics to align content with organizational events. This data-driven approach significantly increased online engagement, visibility and member interaction. Bly demonstrated a positive correlation between social media activity and increased new and renewed memberships, highlighting the impact of digital outreach. This work advanced professional connection, promoted nursing education and opportunities and strengthened community among emergency nurses across the state.

She plans to continue working collaboratively with a dedicated team within the Connecticut State Council to foster meaningful engagement among both new and longstanding members. By promoting connection, professional growth and active participation, she aims to strengthen the sense of community and shared purpose that defines ENA to ensure its enduring spirit continues to inspire and support emergency nurses statewide.

Bly served on the ENA Education Advisory Council in 2024 and 2025 and is an inaugural member of the ENA Ambassador Engagement Committee. She is the Connecticut ENA Council president-elect, and she continues to chair its Membership and Social Media Committee. She is also faculty for TNCC and ENPC.
