Danita Mullins, MSN, RN, CEN, TCRN

Recognizes a nurse who has had a positive impact on emergency nurses through a sustained commitment of advocacy for emergency nurses’ well-being and welfare or the welfare of vulnerable populations. For years, Danita Mullins has advocated for workplace violence prevention at the local, state and national levels. In the past year, she successfully collaborated with the Arkansas Attorney General’s office and the Arkansas Nurses Association on behalf of Arkansas ENA. Their work led to legislation strengthening the state’s workplace violence laws to protect nurses by allowing them to provide their work addresses in police reports instead of their home addresses. She has also been active in the state WPV task force this year to drive systemic change and improve safety for all health care workers in Arkansas to ensure everyone, not only nurses, are included in felony legislation. Mullins, who is the administrative director of emergency and trauma services at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, has served on several ENA and ENA Foundation committees in addition to her active leadership in the Arkansas ENA State Council. She founded the NW Arkansas ENA Special Interest Group in 2009 and chaired it for five years. She is a TNCC provider, instructor and course director.
