Christien van der Linden, PhD MSc, MANP, RN, of the Netherlands

Christien van der Linden demonstrates enduring and substantial contributions to the

advancement of emergency nursing within the area nursing research. As a nurse scientist, methodologist and epidemiologist, an der Linden has led multiple research teams in the Netherlands on studies to address emergency department flow, nursing workload and access to care. She has authored more than 50 peer-reviewed publications, serving as first author for 25 of those articles; provided 24 invited presentations throughout Europe and the eastern Mediterranean region; and served as principal investigator for several grants.

Of note, van der Linden’s research has highlighted critical gaps in continuity of care for vulnerable patients, contributing to the development of improved prevention and follow-up care strategies in the Netherlands. She is committed to mentoring nurses and other health care professionals in research methodologies and professional authorship. She is the clinical research coordinator for acute care at the Haaglanden Medical Center in the Netherlands.
