Department-based initiatives leading to Lantern Award recognition focus on leadership development, education, advocacy, and research. Exemplars highlighted a biannual CEN review course, a robust SANE program, ultrasound-guided IV education, sepsis bundle development, blood culture contamination and CAUTI initiatives, workplace violence mitigation and the creation of a pediatric specialty leader role.
