This award recognizes a nurse who exemplifies outstanding nursing practice as demonstrated through clinical skills, care, and compassion. This nurse is recognized by peers as an expert in emergency nursing and consistently exhibits traits associated with professional behavior and commitment to professional values. This individual may demonstrate outstanding commitment to a specialty population such as pediatrics or older adults within the specialty of emergency nursing.

Tina Williams has 22 years of health care experience where, for the last year, she has served as the assistant nurse manager for the Adult and Pediatric Emergency Department and Level 1 Trauma Center at a large academic, safety net hospital. Tina has demonstrated a passion for emergency nursing through her leadership and development of others. Her commitment to precepting and mentoring has directly contributed to the personal and professional growth of her team. She leads by example and utilizes a professional recognition program to expose her team to new experiences, fostering growth and forward thinking. She was the recipient of her organization’s 2020 Daisy Nurse Leader Award. She chairs the facility’s incivility workgroup where the focus is nurses building each other up and celebrating the strengths of the individual. Tina was instrumental in the implementation of the ESI triage system at her facility and she has a special interest in early sepsis identification and treatment.
